Job Description
Machine Shop Supervisor
First Achieves Engineering is working in partnership with our client, an employee-owned foundry expertizing in the manufacturing sector. The opportunity has arisen for an experienced machine shop supervisor to join their growing team.
The role entails encouraging welders & machine operators to produce quality components in the best possible time frame.
Main Duties of the Role
Setting and operating of conventional horizontal boring machine.
Motivating team to produce 1st class quality products and get all work together.
Operating various machine tools: e.g. lathe, milling machine
Working to tight tolerances.
Inspection of work through the manufacturing process.
Assist in the creation of standard working procedures for typical processes.
Adhering to good housekeeping practices, to ensure all equipment and working areas are clean and tidy.
Requirements
Previous experience as a machine operator with supervisory skills.
Skilled in operating various machine tools and specialize in conventional horizontal boring.
The ability to read mechanical drawings and understand the machining requirement from these.
Desirable
Having used a "Kerns Richard SH752 or similar boring machine.
Have a counterbalance forklift truck license.
Ability to operate overhead crane to load and unload parts
Safe working practice knowledge in a machine shop environment.
