Site & Service Machine Tool Design & PLC Support Engineer - Brighouse 🌟
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + Overtime
Location: Brighouse (must be based within 45-60 minutes of site)
Are you an experienced Engineer with strong PLC and machine tool knowledge, looking for your next challenge? Our client, a well-established and forward-thinking engineering company, is seeking a Site & Service Machine Tool Design & PLC Support Engineer to join their expanding team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in both supporting existing machinery and driving forward the company's growing retrofit division.
🔧 The Role
Provide site-based and service support to diagnose and correct electrical and PLC software issues on machine tools.
Work with machine tool control systems and drives, including Heidenhain, Siemens, and Fanuc.
Back up control system software using various PC packages.
Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of electrical systems and PLC software.
Retrofit projects: design and installation of new electrical panels and updated CNC systems.
Interrogate, modify, and write PLC software (with emphasis on Heidenhain 620/640 controls).
🎓 Qualifications & Experience Required
✅ Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship.
✅ Hands-on experience with both manual and CNC milling machinery.
✅ Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
✅ Basic mechanical and hydraulic knowledge with strong practical ability.
✅ Experience in electrical drafting and PLC software writing.
✅ NVQ or higher in an Engineering subject (preferred).
