MACHINERY FITTER
KILDARE, IRELAND - This role is 100% remote covering a large region throughout Ireland
SALARY CIRCA £25.00 PER HOUR DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE
Our client specialises in the sale, hire, and service of industrial shredders, agricultural, and forestry machinery. The company distributes a range of new and used equipment across various sectors, including recycling, construction, and quarrying. They are looking to employ a Machinery Fitter with immediate effect.
As a Machinery fitter you will inspect, maintain, and repair industrial and mechanical equipment to ensure proper function and minimise downtime.
Core responsibilities include performing routine and preventive maintenance, diagnosing and fixing issues, and performing safety checks. You will work with various machinery, shredders, crushers, separation machinery, forestry machines, conveyor belts etc.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintenance and repair:
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance, as well as troubleshoot and repair breakdowns on machinery and mechanical systems.
* Troubleshooting:
Use diagnostic skills to identify the root cause of equipment malfunctions.
* Installation:
Assist with the installation of new machinery and equipment.
* Inspections:
Conduct technical inspections of equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly and safely.
* Documentation:
Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
* Collaboration:
Work with engineers and other production staff to ensure equipment reliability and production continuity.
* Safety:
Ensure all safety protocols are followed and maintain a safe work environment.
Typical Duties
* Changing filters and oil.
* Repairing or replacing defective components like pumps, motors, and gearboxes.
* Testing equipment and machinery.
* Reading blueprints and using measuring equipment like micrometres and callipers.
* Operating machinery for tasks such as assembly or machining if needed.
* Maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
