Machinist / Workshop Operative
📍 Redditch, Worcestershire

APN Recruitment are proud to be working with a well-established engineering company in Redditch who are looking for an experienced Machinist / Workshop Operative to join their team. This is a hands-on role in a busy workshop, perfect for someone with strong machining skills and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
*
Read, interpret and work from technical drawings
*
Calculate positions and sizes of drawing features
*
Set, operate and machine components in a variety of materials
*
Carry out machining processes as directed by your Line Manager
*
Use precision measuring equipment to ensure correct fit, tolerance and quality
*
Maintain workshop standards, including cleaning, sharpening tooling, and equipment care
*
Accurately complete job paperwork and maintain records
*
Follow all Health & Safety procedures, including correct PPE use
Skills & Experience
*
Proven machining experience in a workshop/engineering environment (training can be given)
*
Strong knowledge of technical drawings and machining processes
*
Confident using measuring equipment
*
Ability to maintain tools and machinery safely and efficiently
*
Understanding of workshop practices: housekeeping, manual handling, and safe tool use
*
CAD/CAM programming experience is desirable but not essential
