Job Description
Maintenance Assistant – Commercial
Location: York
Salary: £26,500 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
On-call: 1 in 4 weeks (£150 standby allowance, vehicle provided door-to-door)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Overtime: Available
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Maintenance Assistant to join our commercial maintenance team in York. This is a great opportunity for someone with a hands-on approach and a passion for maintaining high standards across commercial sites.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform basic maintenance, repairs, and inspections on commercial properties

Assist engineers with routine servicing and reactive works
*
Respond to emergency call-outs during on-call rota
*
Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies
Requirements:

Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities support role
*
Basic knowledge of building services (e.g. plumbing, electrics, general repairs)
*
A positive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn
*
Full UK driving licence (essential)
On-call Details:

1 in 4 weeks on-call
*
£150 standby allowance
*
Company vehicle provided with door-to-door use during on-call week
