Job Title: Maintenance Assistant (Property)
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Newmarket, Suffolk
Salary: £33,000 - £35,000 a year
We are seeking a hands-on and dependable Maintenance Assistant to join our clients Property Maintenance team in Newmarket. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in general maintenance and repairs, with experience working in property maintenance. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, problem-solving, and being actively involved in maintaining high standards across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out general maintenance and repairs, including carpentry, tiling, and fixing windows, doors, and locks.
Install, inspect, and repair guttering and drainage systems.
Conduct basic plumbing tasks and source materials as required.
Liaise with external contractors and oversee their work when necessary.
Support colleagues by providing cover during absences and responding to maintenance callouts.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company procedures.
Undertake any additional maintenance tasks as requested by management within the scope of the role.
What We're Looking For:
Proficiency in using basic hand tools and knowledge of one or more trades (e.g., carpentry, tiling, plastering).
Proven experience in a similar maintenance or facilities role.
A basic understanding of current Building Regulations.
Strong practical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions effectively.
