Job Description
Role: Maintenance Electrician
Location: Cumbria (Carlisle, Workington, Whitehaven, Maryport)
Salary: £38,000 + weekly pay + mileage
Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:30 (30 min unpaid lunch)
I'm looking for a Maintenance Electrician to join a solid and growing team covering a patch across West Cumbria. It’s a steady, PPM role with some reactive work and light installs thrown in. You'll have a van and fuel card (personal use is optional), tools provided, and travel is kept reasonable – 30 minutes each way max.
What’s on offer:
* £38k basic salary
* Weekly pay (including mileage)

* Mileage reimbursed at £0.22/mile (from your own account)
* Tools and phone provided
* OT available: 1.5x Mon–Sat, 2x Sundays
* 25 days holiday + 8 bank hols
* 2 weeks sick pay
* Bonus scheme (changes yearly)
* Standard pension
* Training and progression on offer as the team grows
Rota + Hours:
* 40 hours per week
* Call-out is 1 in 4, with a £150 retainer and minimum 4h pay per call
* Working solo for now, but plans to grow the team
What you need:
* NVQ Level 3 + 18th Edition
* Someone confident working alone but also client-facing
* Good attitude – the team’s being rebuilt after a few changes
* Comfortable using mobile systems (you’ll be using 365)
There are no specialist systems on site, and while it’s mostly maintenance, there is a bit of everything – so a good all-rounder would fit in well here. Work for a Top client in the FM industry, the contract’s long-term, and it’s a good chance to get in early as the new team takes shape.
