Maintenance Electrician
📍 Edinburgh | Full-Time | Facilities Management
About the Role
We are working with a leading national Facilities Management provider who is seeking an experienced and motivated Maintenance Electrician to join their team in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance services across a portfolio of commercial contracts, ensuring compliance, safety, and excellent client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
*
Carry out PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and reactive maintenance on electrical systems across commercial properties.
*
Diagnose and repair electrical faults quickly and effectively.
*
Perform statutory testing including emergency lighting, fire alarms, and compliance checks.
*
Work collaboratively with the helpdesk, clients, and other engineers to ensure service delivery within agreed SLAs.
*
Complete job reports, compliance documentation, and maintain accurate records.
*
Participate in an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support when required.
*
Ensure all works are completed in line with Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
Skills & Experience
*
Previous experience as a Maintenance or Commercial Electrician within the FM sector.
*
Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, testing, and fault-finding.
*
Ability to manage workload independently across multi-site contracts.
*
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
*
Flexible, reliable, and proactive approach.
Qualifications & Certifications
*
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential).
*
City & Guilds 2365 / 2391 (or equivalent NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations).
*
Testing & Inspection (2391 or equivalent) desirable.
*
Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
*
CSCS / Health & Safety training advantageous.
