Role Overview:
You will be responsible for the electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex machinery used in high-specification industrial processes. The role is hands-on and varied, requiring a solid understanding of both electrical and mechanical systems. Your work will directly support production up time, safety, and overall operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive breakdown repairs, and fault diagnosis on a range of plant and equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical and control systems, including PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley), HMIs, and SCADA systems.
Support installation, commissioning, and modifications of new and existing equipment.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventative actions to reduce downtime and improve system reliability.
Maintain accurate maintenance records through the site's Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and contribute to site-wide EHS improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in production, quality, and engineering.
Participate in site improvement and upgrade projects.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Recognised electrical qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
17th or 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations certified.
Strong electrical bias with competent mechanical aptitude.
Proven experience in a heavy manufacturing or foundry-type environment.
Hands-on knowledge of AC/DC drives, sensors, instrumentation, and control systems.
Ability to fault-find and resolve issues efficiently under pressure.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
