Job Description
We at Work Lyf Group are seeking a proactive and versatile Multiskilled Engineer to join our clients team in the Meir area. This hands-on role involves maintaining and servicing a range of industrial machinery, including beam saws, edge banding machines, and other woodworking equipment. You’ll play a key part in ensuring smooth operations, minimising downtime, and supporting production efficiency.
Responsibilities
* Carry out routine maintenance and emergency repairs on beam saws, edge banders, and related machinery
* Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and implement effective solutions
* Support production teams with technical expertise and rapid response to breakdowns
* Maintain accurate service records and comply with health and safety standards
* Participate in an on-call rota until 8:00 PM for urgent support needs
* Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve equipment reliability
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in a multiskilled engineering role (mechanical/electrical)
* Familiarity with woodworking machinery, especially beam saws and edge banders
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
* Relevant engineering qualifications or apprenticeship preferred
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (desirable)
* Apprenticeship in engineering or manufacturing (preferred)
* Valid UK driving licence (advantageous)
