Maintenance Engineer (Multi-Skilled – Electrical/Mechanical)
Salary: £55,400 per annum + overtime (£1,000–£2,000)
Shifts: 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off (rotating)
Hours: 42 hours per week
Benefits: 22 days holiday + bank holidays, standard pension
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a forward-thinking engineering team operating on one of the most advanced automated facilities in the UK. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of automated systems and delivering both proactive and reactive maintenance to achieve high equipment reliability.
Working as part of a small team, you’ll support daily operations, carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), fault finding, and continuous improvement across a range of automated machinery and material handling systems.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver planned preventive maintenance in line with the maintenance schedule
Diagnose and repair faults on automated equipment within set timeframes
React to breakdowns efficiently to minimise downtime
Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
Work safely and effectively, adhering to all Health & Safety procedures
Update work orders and maintenance records using an electronic system
Collaborate closely with other engineers and site management to ensure operational excellence
About You
Multi-skilled engineer (electrical/mechanical bias 70/30 either way)
Holds a Level 3 qualification in Engineering (or equivalent apprenticeship)
Experienced in a factory or automated environment
Skilled with conveyors, cranes, bearings, belts, chains, and sortation systems
Able to fault-find and repair effectively under pressure
Hands-on, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement
Comfortable working in a shift-based environment
