Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 + Bonus Scheme
Hours: 40 hours per week, Full-Time
Location: UK

We are seeking a proactive and versatile Maintenance Engineer to support the smooth operation of a busy engineering environment. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong general maintenance abilities, good communication skills, and the capability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.

Key Responsibilities

  * 

    Carry out routine maintenance across buildings, workshop spaces, and external areas.

  * 

    Support equipment storage, organisation, and yard layout to ensure efficient workflow.

  * 

    Move and load equipment safely, liaising with internal teams and transport providers.

  * 

    Visit customer or operational sites to assess, position, or remove equipment.

  * 

    Maintain a high standard of housekeeping across workshop and yard areas.

  * 

    Provide general maintenance support to all departments as required.

  * 

    Adhere to Health & Safety procedures, quality standards, and environmental management systems.

  * 

    Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience

  * 

    General maintenance skills essential.

  * 

    CSCS / CPCS / ECS card – desirable (training can be provided).

  * 

    Forklift licence – desirable.

  * 

    Slinger/Banksman certification – desirable.

  * 

    MEWP licences – advantageous.

  * 

    Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.

  * 

    Capable of working independently and managing deadlines.
