About the Role
A manufacturing business is looking to recruit a Multi-Skilled Engineer with both mechanical and electrical experience to support the maintenance and improvement of production equipment.
The role focuses on keeping machinery running efficiently, reducing downtime, and contributing to ongoing improvements across the site. It would suit someone from an industrial background, ideally with exposure to extrusion or plastics processes, who takes a practical and proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
You will carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance across a range of plant equipment, diagnose faults, and ensure issues are resolved quickly to minimise disruption to production. The role also involves supporting equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement activities, as well as ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety standards.
Skills & Experience
Applicants should have previous experience in a multi-skilled engineering role within manufacturing, with strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability. Experience with PLCs, drives, motors, and control systems is important, along with a working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
The ability to read technical drawings and use maintenance systems is expected. Experience within extrusion, plastics, or related systems such as water and chillers would be beneficial but is not essential.
Personal Attributes
The role requires someone who is reliable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. A practical mindset, good communication skills, and a willingness to contribute to continuous improvement are important.
