Job Description

Position: Maintenance Engineer 
Location: Somerset (Commutable from Bristol, Shepton Mallet, Wells, Bath, Trowbridge and surrounding areas) 
Salary: £51,500 + Enhanced overtime (Always available - OTE £60K+) 
Shift: 4O4O (2 Days 2 Nights) 

Zest have partnered with a well-established, fast-paced food manufacturing site currently expanding our engineering team, and we're looking for three Maintenance Engineers to join the team! Why three? Because business is booming, internal promotions, creating new openings, a brand-new production line being installed, and continued growth across the site. It's a genuinely exciting time to come on board.

The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a key role in keeping the site running safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards! You'll be carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across plant machinery and services, minimising downtime, and supporting the wider engineering and production teams to hit their goals.

What you'll be doing:
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive/corrective maintenance across site machinery and services
* Fault finding and rectifying issues quickly and efficiently to minimise production downtime
* Completing on-site checks including effluent plant and boiler checks
* Keeping the CMMS system fully updated and accurate
* Supporting continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives across the site
* Working closely with the Engineering Shift Manager and wider team, including handovers at the start and end of shift
* Helping to develop functional engineering skills across the team, including supporting first-line maintenance training
* Maintaining full compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety policies and procedures
What We're Looking For
* Strong engineering qualifications and background - apprenticeship-trained to HND level or equivalent is ideal (or a strong practical background with relevant experience) 
* Good Mechanical or Electrical knowledge, no specific bias! 
* Manufacturing experience preferred, ideally within FMCG or food manufacturing
* Strong planning, organisational, and communication skills
* A proactive, self-motivated approach, someone who doesn't wait to be asked
