Job Description

Alexander Steele Recruitment are working with an established food manufacturing business based in Hertfordshire, who are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team.

This is a hands-on role, responsible for maintaining plant and equipment to a high standard, minimising downtime and supporting a safe, efficient production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across production and packaging equipment

  * Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults quickly to minimise production downtime

  * Ensure all work is carried out in line with food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards

  * Support installation, commissioning and improvement of plant machinery

  * Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete documentation in line with company procedures

  * Work closely with production teams to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities

  * Ensure spare parts and stock levels are managed effectively to support ongoing maintenance needs

  * Respond to breakdowns promptly, working to resolve issues in a safe and timely manner

On Offer

  * £52,974.66 p.a.

  * Rotating shifts: Mon-Thurs 6am-3.15pm / Fri 6am-2.15pm, and Mon-Thurs 12.45pm-10pm / Fri 1.45pm-10pm

  * 33 days annual leave
