Opportunity to make a genuine impact on equipment reliability and production performanceThe OpportunityWe are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join the Engineering team at a large-scale manufacturing facility in Northamptonshire.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery, equipment and site services.
Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults efficiently and effectively.
Respond promptly to breakdowns, minimising production downtime and maintaining operational output.
Complete routine inspections and safety checks to ensure equipment remains safe, compliant and reliable.
Support the installation, commissioning and modification of new and existing equipment.
Work closely with Production and Operations teams to prioritise maintenance activities and respond to operational requirements.
Identify recurring equipment issues and implement permanent corrective solutions.
Investigate breakdowns and incidents, carrying out root cause analysis and recommending preventative actions.
Support engineering and continuous improvement projects across the site.
Identify opportunities to improve machinery reliability, efficiency and overall equipment performance.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with company procedures, engineering standards and HSE requirements.
Contribute to a positive safety culture and promote safe working practices across the site.
Take ownership of maintenance issues and use your engineering expertise to make effective, informed decisions.Qualifications & ExperienceThe successful candidate will ideally have:

HNC, HND or Degree-level qualification in an Engineering discipline.
A recognised electrical or mechanical engineering qualification.
A completed time-served apprenticeship or equivalent engineering experience.
Proven experience within a manufacturing, production or industrial maintenance environment.
Strong multi-skilled engineering capabilities across both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
Proven experience carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Experience working with industrial production machinery and associated plant equipment.
Knowledge or experience of Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies would be advantageous.
A strong understanding of health, safety and engineering best practice.Skills & Personal AttributesWe are looking for an engineer who is:
