Job Description
We have been appointed exclusively to find an experienced Mechanical Designer for our long term client.
Job Purpose
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will provide Engineering Drawings, Bills of Materials and Installation Operating and Maintenance Manuals for new and current projects and orders, to agreed criteria, quality and timescales.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design Development: Create 3D design concepts and planning drawings to meet sales briefs and customer requirements.
* Produce designs and drawings compliant with BS8888 standards.
* Develop IOM manuals tailored to customer needs and production requirements.
* Modify designs/drawings.
* Transfer legacy drawings into an updated CAD PDM system.
* Control parts identification and compile BOMs using the company’s Supply Chain Management system.
* Provide design support across manufacturing areas (machine shop, assembly, purchasing, inspection, stores, and dispatch.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in Mechanical Design Engineering, preferably with knowledge of rotating mechanisms.
* Proficiency with 3D CAD systems (e.g., Autodesk Inventor or similar).
* Strong understanding of computational geometry and its application in creating precise engineering drawings to BS8888 standards
The successful candidate will have:
* Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage workload to meet deadlines.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* High attention to detail and a commitment to improving personal performance.
