Job Description

Established automotive manufacturing organisation requires an experienced Maintenance Engineer to be responsible for ensuring that the facilities, layout, and machinery run to their maximum efficiency and output. As Maintenance Engineer, duties would include total preventative maintenance (TPM), managing breakdowns of mechanical, electrical, and robotic equipment (including software programming); leading the site Maintenance function in providing both a reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure and being responsible for planned scheduling creation and overseeing the adherence and timely completion of work carried out. Ideal candidate for the role of Maintenance Engineer would have previous experience within a similar role and strong foundation in electrical, mechanical and robotic maintenance. Offered as a Temporary to Permanent contract with competitive pay rate and immediate start available. Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities: * Increase the site operational effectiveness, improve on project delivery, mean time between failure and downtime reduction, and manage/implement improvement plans, driving Key Performance Indicators ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental compliance * Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes. * Adhere to daily and weekly checks to ensure smooth operation of site * Develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out, plan in missed maintenance activities, and deliver effectively * Ensure routine calibration and maintenance requirements of a variety of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems are undertaken * Optimise equipment according to standard procedure, enhancing performance and product quality, ensuring the achievement of all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs and maintenance services - Oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of equipment. - Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues - Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities - Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols * Ensure compliance with IATF16949 & ISO14001 Skills/Experience required by Maintenance Engineer: * Proven experience in maintenance management or a similar role (preferably within a manufacturing environment) * Strong knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and building maintenance * Familiarity with project management principles and practices * Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and logic controllers * Excellent leadership and supervisory skills * Proficiency in English, both written and verbal * Understanding of IATF16949 and ISO14001 * Flexibility and availability to respond to on call emergencies Location: Redditch, Worcestershire Hours of Work: 39 hours per week/Mon-Thurs 7 am to 4 pm, Fri 7 am to 12 noon Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 p.a. dependent upon experience Contract: Temporary to Permanent If you have the skills to fulfil the role of Maintenance Engineer, please APPLY TODAY
