Job Description

Maintenance Engineer Salary: £45,000 + benefits | Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm | 45 hours/week Are you a hands-on Maintenance Engineer with a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing production facility with real career progression potential. The Role: As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be working in a multi-skilled role with a 70/30 mechanical to electrical bias (or vice versa, depending on your strength). You'll be responsible for both reactive and preventative maintenance on a range of machinery including pumps, hydrocoolers, and cooking vessels. Typical Duties Include: Responding to equipment breakdowns and conducting fault diagnosis Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks Mechanical repairs including work on hydraulics, pneumatics, belts, bearings, gearboxes, and chains Electrical tasks including working with 3-phase systems, motor testing, sensors, relays, and invertors Involvement in process improvement and contributing to maintenance schedules Desirable Experience & Skills: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant discipline Mechanical and/or electrical background PLC fault finding (preferably Mitsubishi) Welding and light machining Previous experience in food production or fast-paced manufacturing is a bonus Ex-Forces or international candidates with valid UK work rights welcome What’s on Offer: Competitive salary of £45,000 32 days holiday (including bank holidays) Pension scheme Health and wellness support via ‘Help at Hand’ Retail, food, and gym discounts via employee perks platform Overtime available Clear path to progression (e.g. into supervisory or operations roles) Interview Process: Stage 1: Virtual interview covering background and technical competency Stage 2: On-site interview and tour (PPE required) This is more than a job — it's an opportunity to join a tight-knit engineering team where your input matters.
