Job Description

We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the upkeep and operational efficiency of solar power installations. This individual will ensure the optimal performance, safety, and reliability of all systems across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of solar technologies, demonstrated leadership in managing maintenance operations, and experience coordinating with external contractors to maintain high service standards. Primary Responsibilities: * Direct the maintenance function, supervising in-house personnel as well as external contractors. * Plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities for solar energy assets. * Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental standards in line with company policies and legal requirements. * Establish and refine maintenance protocols to enhance system performance and operational reliability. * Administer contracts and maintain productive relationships with third-party service providers. * Analyse system performance data and address faults to reduce downtime and maintain energy output. * Produce detailed maintenance records, budgets, and reports in compliance with regulatory standards. * Collaborate with project and operations teams to maintain alignment and efficiency across business units. * Champion continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on cost savings, energy optimisation, and procedural enhancements. Required Qualifications: * Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or equivalent experience. * At least 5 years of proven experience in maintenance management, particularly in the solar energy sector. * In-depth knowledge of photovoltaic systems, inverters, electrical infrastructure, and grid integration. * NEBOSH or IOSH health and safety certification is highly preferred. * Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is considered a plus. Key Skills and Competencies: * Strong leadership with the ability to manage teams and inspire high performance. * Organised, with effective planning and project management capabilities. * Skilled in diagnosing technical issues and delivering timely solutions. * Competent in contractor oversight and coordination. * Familiar with maintenance planning tools and standard business software (e.g., Microsoft Office). * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels. * Sound knowledge of HSE legislation and industry best practices. Preferred Attributes: * Experience leading a distributed contractor network for system maintenance and installation. * Working knowledge of SCADA systems for real-time solar monitoring and control. * Understanding of asset management strategies and methods to enhance performance. * Self-driven and adaptable, able to thrive in a fast-moving environment and resolve issues proactively.
