Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Manager
Location: North Herefordshire - You must live within a one hour drive of the site.

Hours: Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week with some flexibility
Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm, Friday 8am – 1pm
Salary: £42,500 pa + Bonus eligibility (rising to £45,000 after 6 month probation period)
Holidays: 22 days + public holidays
Reporting to: Operations Manager
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Manager to join our manufacturing team in North Herefordshire. As part of a global medical device manufacturer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of our production facility.
This role involves both planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of manufacturing equipment, including Injection Moulding, RF Welding, Sewing, Cutting, Vacuum Forming, and Fabric Printing machinery, as well as general building maintenance.
This role would suit someone with experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Management
* Develop and maintain a robust preventative maintenance schedule.
* Plan, complete, and document corrective maintenance tasks.
* Minimise production downtime by effectively scheduling internal and external maintenance activities.
* Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for machinery breakdowns.
* Ensure all machinery, plant, and site infrastructure remain fit for purpose.
* Support the specification, installation, and commissioning of new equipment.
* Manage safe decommissioning and disposal of obsolete machinery or equipment.
Compliance & Risk
* Ensure all activities comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
* Supervise contractors and ensure all site work meets legal and internal safety standards.
* Keep up to date with relevant legal and regulatory requirements
Budget & Cost Control
* Contribute to the preparation and management of the maintenance budget.
* Monitor maintenance-related expenditure and seek cost-saving opportunities.
* Manage parts inventory and coordinate supplier relationships for maintenance needs.
Collaboration & Communication
* Participate and contribute to internal meetings and communicate relevant updates across teams.
* Collaborate with cross-functional departments and external service providers.
* Provide technical support and guidance to other teams as needed.
Candidate Specification
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in a senior maintenance role within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities across mechanical and electrical systems.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Effective problem-solving, planning, and decision-making capabilities.
* Experience working with maintenance KPIs and compliance frameworks.
Desirable Qualifications
* HND, BTEC Level 5, or equivalent qualification in relevant maintenance, mechanical or electrical engineering
* Recognised apprenticeship in in relevant maintenance, mechanical or electrical engineering
* Extensive hands-on experience with plant, equipment, and site infrastructure maintenance.
* Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and equipment lifecycle management.
* Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality systems, IOSH or NEBOSH
