Maintenance Manager Job Overview
My client is a progressive engineering and manufacturing business, producing high-quality components for industries such as aerospace, automotive, and defence. Over recent years, the company has invested heavily in state-of-the-art technology and equipment, strengthening its position as a market leader and continuing to win significant new contracts.
Based at the company's main manufacturing site in the Worthing/ Littlehampton area, the Maintenance Manager will be part of the site leadership team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant maintenance, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading both preventative and reactive maintenance activities across all plant equipment and facilities.
Scheduling and carrying out preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer recommendations.
Responding quickly to breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
Troubleshooting, fault-finding, and repairing mechanical and electrical issues on a wide range of equipment.
Working with control systems, PLCs, instrumentation, calibration, and overhead cranes.
Keeping accurate maintenance records and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety procedures.
Supporting and mentoring apprentices and junior team members.
Driving 5S, continuous improvement, and lean initiatives across the site.Maintenance Manager Job Requirements
Recognised multiskilled engineering qualification (apprenticeship to ONC/Level 3 or above).
Strong background in both electrical and mechanical maintenance of manufacturing equipment and plant systems (e.g., hydraulics, pneumatics, gas burner controls, electrical panels, PLCs, overhead cranes). Desirable:
IPAF Cherry Picker Training/Licence, FLT Licence, 17th/18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations.
HNC/HND qualification.
Knowledge of Allen Bradley, Siemens, GEM PLCs, SCADA, or Gas Safe certification.
Boiler operation certification (BOAS).

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per year
Overtime available
This role is commutable from Worthing, Bognor Regis, Chichester, Brighton, Crawley, and Guildford.
