Maintenance Manager (Northamptonshire)
If you are an existing Engineering Supervisor/Leader/Maintenance Manager or equivalent looking to take the next step in your career, this is a unique opportunity to take charge of a busy manufacturing site's maintenance operations while staying involved in the practical side of engineering.
This role blends leadership with hands-on involvement, offering the chance to shape maintenance strategy, lead a skilled team, and directly influence plant reliability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide direction and leadership to a multi-disciplined engineering team, fostering a culture of high performance, safety, and continuous improvement.
* Oversee and enhance maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability and optimum production performance.
* Take a hands-on approach to maintenance planning, problem-solving, and technical challenge resolution.
* Manage maintenance budgets and resources to deliver operational excellence.
* Ensure timely diagnosis and resolution of breakdowns to minimise production impact.
* Collaborate with suppliers and partners to secure essential parts and services efficiently.
* Champion safe working practices and compliance across the engineering department.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Proven leadership experience in a maintenance or engineering environment.
* Strong electrical engineering expertise with mechanical competence.
* Experience in high-volume manufacturing, ideally within the FMCG or food sector.
* A proactive, practical approach to problem-solving and team leadership.
* A track record of delivering maintenance improvements and reliability projects.
* Understanding of regulatory requirements such as DSEAR and ATEX.
