Job Description

Zenith People are working with our client who are a Manufacturer based in the North East and are looking for a time-served Maintenance Technician on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and improvement of electrical and mechanical systems and equipment across the site, while also supporting mechanical maintenance tasks as needed. This role is vital to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all plant machinery. Duties include:- * Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance on plant equipment and systems * Diagnose electrical faults and implement timely repairs * Assist in mechanical maintenance and repairs when required * Support installation and commissioning of new equipment * Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations * Document all work carried out, using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) * Collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime * Identify areas for continuous improvement in equipment reliability and efficiency Skills & Qualifications Required *NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering *Proven experience in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance role *Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities *Basic understanding of mechanical systems *Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics *Familiarity with PLC systems (preferred) *Excellent communication and teamwork skills Essential Requirement/Experience Required * Methodogical Approach * Good organisational skills and comfortable working multiple priorities * Must be capable of prioritising and multi-tasking in a pressurised environment * Results orientated, with a commitment to quality and timely delivery * Physical demands of the job – able to lift and move heavy or awkward objects safely * Work in compliance with HSE guideline * Ensure site compliance regarding corporate rules and regulations * Ability to assess situations and make appropriate judgements and recommendations * Good understanding of Health & Safety * Strong Electrical & Hydraulic understanding with respects to fault finding is essential * Diagnose & Repair Mechanical and Electrical Faults * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Must be flexible and adaptable * Minimum 3 to 5 years of maintenance experience in a production/manufacturing environment * Considerable knowledge of methods, techniques, materials, supplies and tools necessary for the maintenance, alteration and repair of mechanical and/or electrical equipment * Able to read, interpret and update engineering drawings * Experienced in the use of handheld tools and specialized equipment SHIFTS – DAYS MONDAY TO FRIDAY Although they would prefer candidates with more of an Electrical Bias, they will consider Multi skilled with some PLC Fault Finding exposure.
