Job Description

Maintenance Technician 

£54,000 + Car Allowance + Overtime
 North Northamptonshire 

 We’re recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a leading industrial technology business, supporting the installation, maintenance and performance of advanced equipment at customer sites.

 This is a varied role that will initially involve field service and customer-site support, before moving into a dedicated site-based maintenance position.

Duties & Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on industrial equipment
Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
Install, assemble, test and commission equipment at customer sites
Troubleshoot equipment issues both on-site and remotely
Carry out inspections and identify opportunities to improve reliability and performance
Support customers with technical issues and equipment operation
Deliver basic customer training on equipment use and maintenance
Complete detailed service reports and maintenance documentation
Record work, parts usage and equipment status using SAP or similar systems
Support continuous improvement across maintenance processes and procedures
Work closely with customers and internal engineering teams
Travel to customer sites as required
 Requirements
5+ years’ experience in maintenance, field service, automation or an industrial engineering environment
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience
Experience maintaining and repairing industrial machinery or automated equipment
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
Experience with PPM and reactive maintenance
Comfortable working directly with customers and operating independently on-site
Experience with lifting equipment would be advantageous
Technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Maintenance or Automation
Experience using SAP or another ERP system
Good technical reporting and communication skills
Full flexibility to travel to customer sites when required
