Maintenance Technician 📍 Location: South Donegal 💼 Sector: Production 🔖 Job Reference: VAC-13611 Hours - full time hours - 6 month contract With global operations and a strong base in South Donegal, our client employs over 200 local team members and upholds a proud multi-generational legacy. What You'll Do The Maintenance Technician is part of the Maintenance team and is critical to production efficiency, safety and plant improvements. The Maintenance Technician is familiar with plant, equipment and instruments in use. Here are the functions and duties of a Maintenance Technician. Preventative Maintenance (PM) Develops PM schedules for plant and equipment along with Maintenance Manager Develops spare parts list for plant and equipment, along with Maintenance Manager Carries out PM work according to PM schedule Highlights any recurring issues to Maintenance Manager Liaises with Maintenance Manager on purchase of spare partsBreakdown Maintenance Responds to breakdown and seeks to repair Plant/Equipment as soon as possible, within safety guidelines, to optimise production efficiency Gives feedback on breakdowns to Maintenance Manager, to assist in developing PM schedules and feedback to production personnel as necessaryProjects As part of Maintenance team, gives input into new Plant/Equipment purchases as requested Helps in commissioning of new Plant/Equipment as required Learns new equipment, and assists in development of PM schedules for new equipment as required Work with contractors and external service technicians as requiredMaintains Health and Safety standards Carries out all work with regard to personal safety and that of all employees Reports any unsafe conditions to Maintenance Manager in timely fashion Seeks ways to improve Plant/Equipment and site safetyGeneral Undertakes training on new Plant/Equipment as required Attends site meetings, engineering reviews as required Supports external, customer and internal audits, so optimum results are achieved Supports in cost control measures on site What You'll Bring In short you should be a competent Electrician/Technician with Factory experience Requirements: Relevant Mechanical qualifications or experience essential - pneumatics, hydraulics Relevant Electrical qualifications or experience essential - PCB's, PLC's, instrumentation Previous experience in food facility desirable Note: Only applicants with existing legal rights to work in Ireland can be considered.
