Job Description
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for carrying out maintenance activities within a high volume food industry production environment where duties will include fault- finding on mechanical and electrical equipment, in addition to routine and non-routine maintenance activities.
Specific Duties will include :
* Preventive maintenance, fault-finding and repair of all mechanical and electrical systems, supporting buildings, utilities and process support equipment including both electrical and mechanical repairs.
* Perform routine and non-routine maintenance service or repairs within a large food manufacturing facility including service of machinery, electrical and mechanical repairs or installation for conformance to established standards. Typical equipment worked on will include processing equipment, packaging equipment, and utilities equipment (e.g. chillers, compressors, AHU, HVAC, lighting, heating etc.).
* Record all maintenance activities performed on the site Computerised Maintenance Management System.
* Ensure all maintenance activities, equipment developments, and system efficiency improvements are performed in accordance with the site Safety Standards and in accordance with the Quality Management System.
* Management and execution of LOTO & Permit-to-Work systems, including taking responsibility for service contractor supervision.
* Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained as maintenance activities are executed.
* Delivery of equipment familiarisation and training to colleagues and to client site personnel (e.g. equipment operators).
* Identify and implement cost and technical improvements under the engineering department’s Continuous Improvement program.
Qualifications / Work Experience
* Electrical Trades Qualification with experience working in a similar role.
* Industrial maintenance knowledge & experience (e.g. mechanical/electrical/instrumentation/automation systems).
* Experience of trouble-shooting and fault-finding, including with automated control systems.
* Excellent communication skills & good PC/computer system skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative.
