Maintenance Technician / Engineer – Night Shift
Salary: £38,000 per annum
Shift Pattern: 3 on / 3 off – 6:00pm to 6:00am
Location: Coventry
We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician/Engineer to join a well-established business operating within a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a growing team and play a key role in ensuring site equipment runs safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Duties
Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance on a range of equipment to minimise downtime.
Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical faults, ensuring safe and efficient resolutions.
Working independently and taking accountability for the condition and reliability of production equipment.
Accurately recording all downtime events, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, safety, and equipment performance.
Collaborating with colleagues across maintenance and operations to ensure smooth handovers and clear communication.
Escalating issues when necessary to ensure swift resolution.The Candidate
Engineering qualification – Electrical or Mechanical (C&G, NVQ Level 3, ONC or equivalent).
Solid hands-on experience in maintenance and fault finding within an automated or FMCG environment.
Strong knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems, including motors, bearings, pneumatics, sensors, and control systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
Comfortable working in a high-pressure production environment.Desirable:
Additional qualifications such as HNC, IOSH, NEBOSH, or HACCP.
PLC knowledge and experience with inverters/servo motors.
