Job Description

Electrical Engineer to cover a minimum 6-month  37.5hrs per week – shift times between 06:30 – 19:00 rota plus on call The person appointed shall be a technician with an electrical background and will conduct, with minimum supervision, maintenance and installation work on all facilities, plant, and equipment throughout NHS Trust. To provide technical engineering advice andsupport for the maintenance of equipment, fabric, and utility services for the trust. The post holder A current driving license and be prepared to use his/her vehicle for commuting between various hospital sites. A mileage allowance will be paid for this facility Qualifications / Training • NVQ Level 3 • City and Guilds Level 3 in inspection and testing of electrical installations. • 18th Edition • First Aid • Health and Safety qualification/ certification. E.g. (Risk assessment training) • Portable appliance testing City & Guilds 237 Previous Experience • Working in the Healthcare environment. • Knowledge of HTM 06.02 (D) • Experience of working within a team and own initiative • Experience of working in a demanding environment with many, sometimes • conflicting priorities. • Experience in electrical maintenance and repair. Skills • A positive and initiative-taking attitude to manage a high volume of work and • Ability to problem solve. • Computer literate to include Word / Excel / Outlook / Power Point. • Excellent planning and organisational skills. • Commitment to, and experience of, multi-professional working arrangements and projects. • High degree of accuracy and diligence. • Ability to deliver quality work in a challenging environment with conflicting priorities. • Takes appropriate action or make decisions in a changing environment and to prioritise work. • Has the ability to manage multiple tasks. • Able to solve problems or pre-empt problems by employing appropriate measures and processes.
