About the Role:
As a Makaton Tutor, you will:
Deliver one-to-one or small group tutoring sessions using Makaton signing and symbols
Create and adapt resources to suit individual learning styles and communication levels
Support learners in developing both their communication and educational goals
Work closely with families, educators, and support staff to ensure consistent learning strategies
Monitor and track progress, providing feedback and reports as needed
Requirements:
Certified Makaton training (minimum Level 2 preferred)
Experience working with children or adults with communication difficulties, learning disabilities, or additional needs
Patience, creativity, and strong interpersonal skills
A clear enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
