Management Accountant – Scunthorpe – Up to £40,000
Chase & Holland are proud to be supporting a leading engineering business who are looking for an experienced and confident finance professional to support their Financial Controller across a broad range of accounting and controlling duties.
This is an exciting role with an even split between core accounting work and job costing/analysis, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility and working closely with both finance and operational teams.

Early finish on a FridayManagement Accountant Responsibilities:
Produce weekly and monthly job costing reports, including material and labour variance analysis and collaborate with commercial and operational teams to interpret results
Support monthly management accounts by posting journals, completing variance analysis and assisting with intercompany reporting and reconciliations
Manage sales and purchase ledgers, ensuring accurate processing, prompt query resolution and month-end reconciliations
Process materials and overhead invoices, expenses, and prepare supplier payment runs, including uploads to HSBC
Reconcile supplier statements each month and manage all supplier-related queries
Oversee timely sales invoicing and routine credit control to support strong cash flow
Carry out daily bank reconciliations in GBP and EUR using Sage 200
Prepare, reconcile and submit quarterly VAT returns, including arranging relevant payments to HMRC
Support the Financial Controller with month-end reporting, forecasting, budgeting, year-end processes, audit preparation and sustainability reporting
Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and manage payroll payment processingRequired Skills & Experience:
• Significant experience in a varied finance role with an ability to manage tight deadlines
• Strong job costing knowledge and analytical capability
• Proficient Excel skills; experience with Sage 200 is an advantage
• High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and proven analytical ability
• Excellent communication skills with a proactive, team-oriented approach
• AAT qualified and/or part-qualified with an accountancy body, or QBE
• Flexible, positive approach and adherence to Group Health & Safety standards
