About the Business
A fantastic opportunity to join a large, logistics business as a Management Accountant, based in Birmingham. Main Duties:
As a Management Accountant, your main duties include:
* Producing accurate, timely monthly management accounts
* Compiling and taking ownership of the monthly Management Information pack for board-level review
* Contributing to rolling forecasts and the annual budgeting cycle, including detailed supporting analysis
* Proactively flagging risks and opportunities to your line manager
* Reviewing and challenging existing processes to help drive profitability and continuous improvement
* Supporting the preparation of statutory accounts and ensuring audit deadlines are consistently met
* Acting as a point of contact for external stakeholders on financial queries
* Maintaining and updating financial models as required
* Assisting with the annual audit process, providing information and support as needed
* Business partnering with non-finance colleagues to build wider commercial and financial understanding
* Supporting investment appraisals and business case analysis alongside Finance Business Partners
* Completing balance sheet reconciliations accurately and on time
* Raising commercial and ad-hoc invoices as requested
* Taking on other duties appropriate to the level of the role as required

The role is hybrid, based out of the company’s Birmingham office, with a split between home and office working. What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or studying/finalist)
* Proven experience in a management accounting role, including month-end close and reporting
* Strong Excel skills, with an interest in data visualisation and automation tools
* A confident communicator, comfortable engaging with both financial and non-financial stakeholders
* A proactive mindset, keen to drive process improvement and add commercial value
* The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
