Reed Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering & Manufacturing company
Are you an experienced leader with a passion for driving efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement? We are seeking a dynamic Managing Director to take full ownership of our manufacturing facility, ensuring smooth production flow, exceptional standards, and on‑time delivery for our customers.
About the Role
As Managing Director you will oversee all day‑to‑day manufacturing activities, leading teams across production, quality, logistics, and maintenance. You will ensure the plant operates safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards while implementing initiatives that enhance performance and support business growth.
What You'll Be Doing
Managing daily production operations, including planning, scheduling, and resource deployment
Leading, mentoring, and developing supervisors and production teams
Ensuring compliance with quality, regulatory, and Health & Safety standards
Identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency
Overseeing inventory control, procurement coordination, and logistics
Ensuring machinery maintenance programmes are delivered effectively to maximise uptime
Driving continuous improvement and operational excellence across the facilityWhat We're Looking For
7-10+ years' manufacturing operations experience (steel fabrication or heavy industry preferred)
Proven leadership experience in a factory or production environment
Strong organisational, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities
Good understanding of fabrication processes including cutting, welding, and assembly
Experience using ERP systems and production planning tools
