Managing Quantity Surveyor
Working for a Tier 1 contractor delivering Rail schemes across the Home Counties region.
Location: Peterborough
Salary: £80,000 to £85,000 basic + Car or Allowance + Bonus + Package
Hybrid working: 3 days on site and 2 days working from home
Role Description:
The Resolute Group is proud to be partnering with a Tier 1 contractor delivering a wide portfolio of infrastructure projects within the rail sector. We are seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to take full commercial responsibility for a 15m Station Upgrade project including lift upgrades, roof replacement, canopy works and improved station access.
You will also oversee multiple smaller projects ranging from 500k to £5m, providing strategic reporting, cost management and forecasting across the programme.
This opportunity is ideal for someone based in the local region seeking a long-term position on a stable live project supported by a pipeline of more than £100m due to be delivered over the next four years.
Working on a hybrid basis, you will spend three days per week on site and two days working from home for creating reports for both Network Rail and Internal stakeholders as well as Stakeholder and Project progress meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the commercial management of a £15m Station Upgrade project, ensuring accurate cost control, reporting and forecasting.
Manage a portfolio of smaller projects valued between 500k and £5m, overseeing budgets, valuations, variations and overall financial performance.
Work collaboratively with project teams, stakeholders and subcontractors to ensure commercial compliance and effective contract administration.
Prepare and present monthly commercial reports, cost plans and cashflow forecasts to senior management.
Provide leadership, guidance and support to junior commercial staff, promoting best practice across the commercial function.
On the larger £10m+ schemes, you will have a dedicated Senior Quantity Surveyor working under you, managing the day-to-day commercial aspects of the project.
Experience:
Degree in Quantity Surveying or a similar relevant qualification.
Strong on-site experience in a Quantity Surveying role.
Experience delivering projects valued between £5m and £20m with the capability to lead the commercial function independently
Full clean driving licence.
