Job Title: Barrel Manufacturer / Manual Machinist
Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire
Salary: £16.00 – £17.50 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: Day Shift – Monday to Thursday, 07:00 – 16:30
Job Type: Full-Time

MoveATech is recruiting for a skilled Manual Machinist to join a specialist precision engineering manufacturer based in Portsmouth.

The successful candidate will work within a precision machine shop environment manufacturing specialist components including barrels, using manual machining techniques while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist looking for a stable role with a 4-day working week.

Key Responsibilities

  * 

    Manufacture precision components including barrels using manual lathes and milling machines

  * 

    Work from engineering drawings and technical specifications

  * 

    Use precision measuring equipment to maintain tight tolerances

  * 

    Maintain high quality and safety standards within the machine shop

  * 

    Support general machining operations within the production environment

Skills & Experience Required

  * 

    Proven experience as a Manual Machinist / Precision Machinist

  * 

    Strong experience operating manual lathes and milling machines

  * 

    Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

  * 

    Experience using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, verniers, gauges)

  * 

    Familiarity with Fanuc controls

Desirable Experience

  * 

    Experience with Fusion 360 CAM

  * 

    Experience with pallet loading machines

  * 

    Knowledge of XYZ Prototrak or Heidenhain controls
