Job Description
Adept Resourcing are currently working with a long-established precision engineering business in Sheffield that is looking to recruit an experienced Manual Machinist to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled individual who takes pride in producing high-quality, one-off or small batch components for use in demanding environments.
This role is ideal for a time-served machinist with experience on manual lathes and mills, looking for a stable, long-term position in a well-equipped and supportive workshop.
Key Responsibilities:
Setting and operating manual lathes and milling machines to produce bespoke components to tight tolerances.
Interpreting and working from engineering drawings.
Using measuring equipment (micrometres, verniers, gauges) to ensure quality standards are met.
Carrying out one-off and low-volume machining work with a high degree of precision.
Working independently to plan and complete tasks in a timely manner.Candidate Requirements:
Time-served or experienced Manual Machinist with a background in turning and/or milling.
Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Experience with a variety of materials including steel, stainless, and alloys.
Comfortable working in a workshop environment on custom or low-volume jobs.What's on Offer:
£17.50 - £20.50 per hour
Monday - Friday - Day shift hours with early Friday finishes
