Job Description
Job Title: Manual Miller Machinist
Shift: Day shift 39hrs – 28 days holiday – profit share
Rate: Up to £17 p/h
We are seeking a skilled Manual Miller to join a Walsall based precision engineering company. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating manual milling machines, interpreting technical drawings, and producing high-quality components to tight tolerances.
The Job:
* Operate manual milling machines to produce components according to specifications. Prefrably with Bridgport experience
* Set up and adjust machine tools for use, ensuring optimal performance and accuracy.
* Experience on a capstan required.
* Being able to read from technical drawings essential.
* Measure and mark out the material for machining accurately.
* Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure components meet required specifications
* Inspect finished components for accuracy and quality, ensuring they meet specified tolerances.
* Identify and rectify any machining errors or defects.
* Maintain high standards of workmanship and adhere to quality control procedures.
The ideal candidate:
* Proven experience as a manual milling machinist in a precision engineering environment.
* Strong background in operating and setting up manual milling machines.
* Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
* Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
