Job Description
Adept Resourcing are currently recruiting for a Manual Vertical Borer on behalf of our client, based in Greater Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist with experience operating large manual vertical boring machines to join a stable and growing company with a strong reputation for quality and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate manual vertical boring machines to produce medium to heavy components.
Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
Machine components to precise tolerances, ensuring accuracy and high-quality standards.
Perform self-inspection on completed parts to ensure conformance.
Work independently and efficiently, with minimal supervision.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with company procedures.
Contribute to team productivity and meet daily targets and deadlines.
Requirements:
Proven experience operating manual vertical boring machines.
Ability to interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings.
Confident machining a range of materials, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Experience working with medium to heavy components.
High attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving.
Desirable:
Formal engineering or machining qualifications.
Previous experience in a subcontract or precision engineering environment.
