Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Plymouth (Estover, PL6)
Shifts: Monday – Friday, rotating 6am–2pm & 2pm–10pm
Salary: £38,000 - £47,000 + 8% annual company bonus
Welcome Bonus: £2,500 (paid in your first week’s salary)
Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a large, well-established manufacturing site in Plymouth. About the Role
As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, fault-finding and repair of plant equipment, with a strong focus on electrical and automation systems. You’ll play a key role in maintaining uptime and ensuring the smooth operation of production machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform electrical and automation fault diagnosis and repair on production equipment
Respond to breakdowns and carry out root cause analysis
Complete preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs
Support continuous improvement and lean maintenance practices
Provide technical training and support to operators, apprentices, and other team members
Assist with Level I & II system troubleshooting, including PLC, HMI and servo control systems
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience in electrical maintenance within a fast-paced manufacturing or FMCG environment
Strong skills in automation and PLC fault-finding
A proactive, results-driven individual with excellent problem-solving skills
HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical / Automation / Multiskilled Engineering or significant industry experience
Mechanical knowledge would be an advantage
