We’re looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer with strong lean manufacturing and assembly experience to join a fast-scaling, global defence business supplying equipment to the British military. This is a rare chance to play a key role in building a new production capability locally, with direct knowledge transfer from a European parent site.
You’ll own the Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) development for a critical vehicle build programme and become the go-to expert on the shopfloor during ramp-up and beyond.

What you’ll be doing:
*
Transfer and embed best practice from the European parent site
*
Act as the manufacturing engineering authority on the shopfloor
*
Lead lean improvement, problem-solving, and line balancing activities
*
Drive cost, quality, safety, and waste reduction through CI culture
*
Provide Design for Manufacture input and manage engineering changes
*
Create standard operations, work instructions, and balance charts
*
Support cross-functional project execution
*
Ensure full compliance with EHS and quality standards
What we’re looking for
*
Higher-level qualification in Manufacturing or Engineering
*
Proven success in lean, complex engineering or assembly environments
*
Experience in a Manufacturing Engineer or similar role
*
Strong understanding of engineering change control
*
SAP planning experience (training preferred)
*
Ability to structure BOMs from drawing through to manufacture
*
Confident operating in complex, multi-discipline organisations
