We are recruiting on behalf of an innovative manufacturing business based near Exeter, seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to play a key role in supporting new product development, improving manufacturing processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
The Role:
Provide manufacturing and assembly expertise throughout the product development lifecycle.
Drive Design for Manufacture (DFM) and assembly improvement initiatives.
Lead R&D projects focused on cost reduction and quality enhancement.
Deliver continuous improvements across existing products and processes.
Collaborate with NPD engineers to develop practical manufacturing solutions.
Conduct component and assembly tolerance assessments.
Lead and support DFMEA reviews and risk assessments.
Identify and mitigate manufacturing risks prior to production.
Support the successful transition of new products from design to manufacture.
What we are looking for:
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
FMEA training or experience desirable.
Strong understanding of engineering design principles and Design for Manufacture (DFM).
Ability to create and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Excellent knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing, assembly techniques, materials, and tolerancing.
Experience identifying manufacturing risks during product development and design stages.
