GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a Tewkesbury based manufacturing company. We are recruiting an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to work on projects related to the improving productivity of machines and processes, onsite. This is a full time, permanent role that requires an experienced engineer with a methodical and practical approach to problem solving, with experience of undertaking projects which improve the efficiency of a process. You will receive a salary of £40-50K, pending relevant experience plus excellent company benefits. Manufacturing Engineer main duties: * Drive process efficiency by reducing waste, minimising cycle times, and cutting machine downtime. * Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers to ensure a seamless transition from design concept to prototype production and into full-scale manufacturing. * Work alongside the design team to enhance the manufacturability of existing products. * Support the product development phase by ensuring Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles are applied effectively. * Prepare and maintain accurate machine routing documentation and process records. * Train, mentor, and monitor machine shop operators to ensure best practices are followed. * Develop, optimise, and continuously improve production processes for both new and existing products Required skills and experience: * Proven experience in delivering projects aimed at improving process efficiency. * Skilled in setting and programming a variety of CNC machines. * Strong technical and practical problem-solving abilities. * Relevant industry experience is essential. * Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles, including Kaizen, continuous improvement, and Design for Manufacture (DFM), ideally gained within a medium-volume, high-quality manufacturing environment. * Broad background in electro-mechanical product development, manufacturing, and testing. * Ability to confidently read and interpret complex electro-mechanical technical drawings. * Experience in training, mentoring, and supporting machine operators.
