Job Description

We are recruiting for a multi-skilled maintenance engineer (mechanical biased) to work in a large scale manufacturing facility in the Blackburn area. The role with be providing maintenance engineering to the onsite production/manufacturing equipment and plant to ensure efficient operation and reduce down-time. The role will involve preventative maintenance and reactive repair works. The position is a permanent role paying circa 45.7k (inc SA) and based off an alternating early and late shift pattern. Week 1 - Mon-Fri 06:00-14:00, week 2 Mon-Thur 13:45 - 22:15. Maintenance Engineer duties: Preventive maintenance / Minimising downtime Continuous improvement – To enhance reliability and performance. Reactive repairs Working across a variety of processing and manufacturing plant (mechanical bias) Plus work on PLC's, controls, Scada, compressors Chemical and polymer processing equipment Liaising and overlap with the electrical bias engineers In order to be successful  Ideally recognised apprenticeship in relevant discipline (preferably mechanical) Experience of working within a process or production/manufacturing facility Knowledge of working with PLC's, Scada etc. Detailed knowledge of preventative, predictive and lifecycle maintenance activities. Mechanical fault finding, maintenance and experience.
