Manufacturing Supervisor – £55,000 – Manchester
We’re proud to be working with a leading engineering and defence manufacturer, seeking an experienced Manufacturing Supervisor to oversee production operations at their Stockport facility.
This is a permanent opportunity to take a key leadership role — ensuring that high-quality products are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. You’ll drive operational excellence, champion a culture of safety and accountability, and promote continuous improvement across all manufacturing activities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations to meet production, quality, and cost targets
Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and team performance
Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Plan and manage resources, including shift coverage and cross-functional support as needed
Deliver daily briefings and maintain KPI boards (SQCDP) to monitor performance
Track production progress, address issues promptly, and implement corrective actions
Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job training
Maintain high workplace standards, ensuring audit readiness and compliance
Oversee the consistent application of quality management systems and manufacturing processes
Candidate Requirements
Degree or HND in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage production risk
Experience within aerospace, automotive, or precision engineering sectors (desirable)
Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
SAP/MRP system knowledge (advantageous)
IOSH or NEBOSH certification (preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
