Description
As the Manufacturing Team Leader your responsibilities are as follows;
* Provide leadership for HSE and Food Safety within the RTE Department and positively influence the progression of a behavioural safety and food safety culture at Leigh. Ensure that your team and department remains audit ready for internal and external 3rd party audits, including SML, ERM, BRC, Tesco and other customers. Support the completion of gap analysis against required standards and ensure corrective actions are in place.
* Proactively raise the bar of operational KPIs, develop and deliver all operational KPIs set out in Annual Objectives - H&S, GMP, OEE, PVA (plan vs actual), Yield, Usage variance, PRN, labour variance and training measures. Optimising non-productive time (NPT) efficiently to maximise labour efficiency and training. In conjunction with your manager, planning and future business growth ambition, ensure that the labour model is sufficient to meet upcoming business requirements and implement any necessary changes to your team and/or their hours. Ensure all deviations from performance targets are understood and actions taken to address under-performing areas.
* As a leader, by example, champion and drive the operational excellence culture of the site and programme, ensuring the team use the Daily Team review and are adopting the tools, methodology and behaviours that will drive performance improvements and get to root cause.
* Developing a motivated, connected high performing team by identifying potential and supporting the development of team leaders and operators across the teams, and deliver a functional engagement plan to create a true sense of belonging.
* Ensure that the highest standards of housekeeping, hygiene and other manufacturing practices, GMP, are achieved and maintained in line with BRC and customer requirements. Working with the Hygiene Team to plan required work during non-productive time to ensure the highest possible hygiene standards are maintained throughout the year with a focus on asset care as well as food safety.
* Manage all aspects of Team recruitment through to induction and Individual Learning Plan. Manage performance that is below the expected standard and where necessary, invoke disciplinary procedures up to and including 'Summary Dismissal'.
* Build strong Powerful Partnerships with key functions such as Planning, Engineering, Technical, Finance and Supply chain, as well as with internal and external stakeholders throughout the business, bringing best practice into the function from outside.
Profile
A successful Manufacturing Team Leader should have:
Proven experience in the FMCG industry or a similar manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of Manufacturing processes and driving CI such as; OEE increase, Health and Safety improvements.
Excellent leadership and team management skills with an ability to influence the shop floor through to leadership.
IOSH Managing Safely
Food Safety Certification
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Effective communication and organisational skills.
Job Offer
