Job Description

Our marine client is seeking a skilled Marine Engineer to join their team on a full-time basis in Londonderry.
In this hands-on role, you’ll be at the heart of operations—carrying out maintenance, and repairs directly on-site. From troubleshooting mechanical issues to ensuring vessels are running at peak performance, no two days will be the same. If you enjoy working close to the action and take pride in keeping things moving smoothly on the water, this could be the perfect opportunity. 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
  * Must hold an engineering CoC.
  * Minimum 2 years relevant experience.
  * Must hold or be able to pass a seafarer medical (ENG 1 or 11).
  * Knowledge of health and safety within an industrial environment.
  * Must be able to able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  * Good knowledge of MS packages including Excel and Word and use of CMMS and training platforms.
  * Full current driving licence or access to a form of transport to enable the post holder to meet the requirements of the post in full.
  * Foreign national applicants are required to demonstrate advanced proficiency in English. This can be evidenced by a certificate from the British Council or an IELTS test report showing an overall band score of 6.0 or above, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  * Flexibility at times to work unsocial hours.
  * Hold STCW Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency for small commercial vessels under 3,000kW (desirable).
JOB DESCRIPTION
  * General vessel maintenance, inspection and repairs of harbour vessels.
  * Carry out servicing of equipment and engines.
  * Carry out repair work.
  * Deal with breakdowns.
  * Working closely with the crew to understand problems and carry out fault finding.
  * Take a flexible approach to working hours and to work in accordance with operational requirements.
  * Maintain all health and safety standards and promote a positive safety culture.
