Typically, this person will be responsible for overseeing and managing newbuild projects within a highly respected international marine consultancy. The role requires an experienced professional who can lead from the front, ensure technical and operational excellence, and maintain the highest standards of compliance throughout all stages of vessel construction. HSB Technical’s client is an established and well-regarded business within the global shipbuilding and marine consultancy sector. Duties and Responsibilities of the Marine Project Manager: •Oversee newbuilding projects, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with client and regulatory standards. Lead project teams and coordinate activities between shipyards, owners, and classification societies. Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables from contract signing through vessel delivery. Supervise site teams and provide strong technical leadership and guidance. Liaise effectively with stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication and progress reporting. Support the continuous improvement of company processes and systems. Qualifications and Requirements for the Marine Project Manager: Qualified Naval Architect or Marine Engineer. Minimum 10 years of professional experience within shipbuilding or newbuilding supervision. Prior experience as a Site Manager is highly desirable. Demonstrated newbuilding experience in China (and ideally Korea). Excellent command of English, both written and spoken. Proven ability to work effectively within a structured, compliance-driven organization. A genuine team player with strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
