Job Description

Are you an experienced automotive diagnostics professional looking to apply your expertise in a technical support environment? We’re looking for a Master Diagnostic Support Technician to provide expert-level remote assistance to trade garages and mechanics across the UK. About the Role Based conveniently between Nottingham and Derby, right next to the scenic Shipley Country Park, you’ll use your diagnostic experience and technical understanding to identify root causes of faults and guide workshops toward effective repair solutions. This is a phone-based role focused on remote diagnosis and technical problem-solving. You’ll liaise closely with our engineering and workshop teams to ensure every case is handled accurately and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Provide professional remote technical support to trade garages and workshop technicians. Diagnose complex vehicle faults using structured questioning, data interpretation, and technical reasoning. Interpret fault codes, live data, and diagnostic reports to pinpoint root causes. Collaborate with internal technical departments to resolve customer issues efficiently. Maintain accurate records of support cases and technical findings. Deliver clear, confident, and professional communication to customers. What We’re Looking For 5+ years of experience in the automotive industry, ideally as a: Master Technician / Diagnostic Technician Technical Support Specialist / Technical Helpline Advisor Field Technical Expert or Warranty Diagnostics Professional Excellent understanding of modern vehicle electronics, fault-finding, and ECU systems. Strong analytical and communication skills with a customer-first mindset. Comfortable working in a phone-based, team-oriented technical environment. A passion for helping others solve technical challenges.
