Role Summary
Desk-based role (approx. 80%), focused on managing materials, data entry, and system updates (GMAO, SAP, Excel).
Responsible for receiving, booking, and moving materials, handling paperwork (NCRS), and supporting milk runs
Occasional driving required to support other depots (Allerton), so a valid driving licence is essential.
Challenges
Fast-paced environment with a large volume of materials and data to manage.
Building effective relationships with suppliers and clients, handling challenging communications, and managing stakeholder expectations.
Learning multiple systems (GMAO, SAP, Excel) and adapting to depot-specific processes.
Self-motivation and independent work are critical, as supervision is limited and initiative is required.
Deliverables (First 6-12 Months)
Master basics of GMAO, milk runs, and NCR processes within the first month.
Progress to updating spreadsheets, reporting issues, and chasing materials independently.
Gradually take on delegated tasks and support both Newton Heath and Allerton depots.
Essential Skills
Strong computer literacy, especially advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, spreadsheet management).
Experience with data handling and materials control systems (SAP preferred but not essential).
Valid driving licence.
Good numeracy and literacy (minimum standard grade 3 in maths and English).
Self-motivation, proactive work ethic, and ability to work independently.
Desirable Skills
Technical background or experience identifying parts/materials.
Experience in stakeholder management and professional communication.
Previous experience in a similar desk-based, data-heavy role.
Further Information
Working hours: Monday to Friday, standard 8am–4pm, with flexibility to start/finish earlier (e.g., 6am–2pm) if needed once settled into the role.
Location: Primarily Newton Heath (3 days/week), with 1–2 days/week at Allerton depot (typically midweek).
No specific qualification requirements beyond maths, English, and driving licence.
