Job Description

Materials Planner Hire basis - fixed term contract or on going temp with potential for temp to perm Salary - up to £36,000pa Location: Crewe Working Hours: 37.5 hrs Monday to Friday, 08.00 - 16.00 hrs (30 minutes unpaid lunch break) Responsible to: Head of Supply Chain & HM Commercial Requirement You must be able to undertake Personal Track Safety Medical - screening and training or Job Description This role will form a key part of the Materials Management Team. Working in a fast paced project environment this role will be responsible for ensuring optimum material availability for Heavy Maintenance projects using relevant tools and with full utilisation of the MRP/ERP system. Key duties Ensure a purchase order requisition is provided for each material purchase and that the correct verification and authorisation, in line with current DFA, has been provided Place required material orders in a timely fashion and in line with purchasing procedure through SAP Track material purchases using BOM Trackers and ensure the trackers are maintained daily Ensure forward planning needs are monitored and orders placed in line with relevant lead times Expedite purchases direct with suppliers as required Monitor & GRPO service requests in line with expected time frames Manage key and risk items and liaise with the relevant Project Engineer to ensure materials risks are flagged in a timely manner Complete Repair/Return schedules on a unit by unit basis, notifying stores & suppliers of intended delivery & collection dates and monitor the movements Close out each unit departure in full following the close out procedure within the defined KPI Use trend information to adjust min/max levels as required in accordance with procedure to ensure optimum levels of stock held Monitor expected usage against actual on a unit by unit basis, where there are discrepancies undertake an investigation ensure stock is adjusted at the time of discovery Monitor the daily stock order reports and place required orders daily Liaise with the Materials Team Leader and Stores team reference non-conformance item re-order rate Complete invoice query's in a timely manner Contribute to Group savings targets Ensure compliance with business policy & procedures at all times Person Specification Qualification and Requirements * Minimum 2 years in Supply Chain/ Materials Management Role Desired Experience and Knowledge * Purchase Order Management (Requisition > PO > Delivery process) * Demonstrable experience in maintenance of detailed Bill Of Materials * Proven background in Supplier liaison / Supplier Performance * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills * Strong IT Skills - good working knowledge of MS Office * Conversant with Inventory Control techniques e.g min/max, 2 bin, stock scheduling * Understanding of Material Non-Conformance Processes * Relevant experience of delivering in an engineering based Purchasing/Materials Management environment * SAP user or similar Key Skills * Able to problem solve and work to targets/KPI * Successful and concise communication at all levels * Good IT skills (Microsoft Packages in particular EXCEL & Word) * Excellent understanding of working to standards and procedures Personal Qualities * Good analytical skills * Ability to work with others and build good, professional relationships * Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines whilst maintaining a positive attitude * Be adaptive to change * Self-motivated and proactive Behaviours You work with others to achieve your goals You respect others and your differences You say thank you and give praise to others You give others feedback to help us improve You deliver great service to our customers every day You see things from the customers view to help us make the right decisions You seek and share customer feedback to help us improve their experience You are professional, polite and friendly You continuously raise your standards You keep our colleagues, customers and yourself safe You think about the environment and what steps you can take to make a difference You take responsibility for your actions You are the best you can be and do your job with passion, pride and positivity You act with honesty and integrity You solve challenges by thinking differently You suggest and adopt ideas and improvement to make our business better You understand how to contribute to the aims of our business You embrace technology Training Fire safety Fire Marshall Basic first aid Defibrillator training Ergonomics COSHH Awareness Safety in the workplace PTS Depot safety Accident / incident reporting Electricity awareness Working at heights PPE awareness and usage Key Performance Indicators Please enter the relevant Medical Standard level as per the requirement of SMS Medical Fitness *** Medical Standard - Personal Track Safety 1.
